Introduction
Butwal Lions Eye Hospital,
established in Mangsir, 2053 (Nov,
1996) is located at Lions Chowk,
Butwal-4 of Rupandehi district.
Initially, this eye center was
supported by LEI providing visiting
services twice a week. In 2008, the
local supporter Lions Club of Butwal
and LEI has signed a MOU to support
and provide surgical services at the
hospital.
Hospital remains open 6/7 days by
8:30 am to 3:30 pm round the year.
Center is offering 40,000 OP
examinations and 2,500 Cataract &
other surgeries annually. Free eye
camps, School screening programs and
eye care awareness training to the
various group of community is the
outreach activities,The hospital is running in
its own building constructed by the
Lions Club of Butwal. In 16 bedded
this hospital, Dedicated 27 staff
are (Dr. Anil Sherchan Medical
Superintendent) working
to serve an approximate population
of 150,000. |
